Welcome to the Virus Service @ ISTA!
The Virus Service @ISTA is dedicated to assist our scientists in their research projects that require the use of viruses. We aim to be an „In-House“ solution for all your viral needs, from viral production per se to exchange of both material & knowledge, not only on Campus but also in the wider research community of Vienna.

Provide ISTA scientists with tailored solutions to their viral needs. We are available to project/data discussion, we are flexible in terms of batch sizes, and we are open to work on specific projects aiming to find the proper experimental settings for your research (such as viral systems and/or strains, promoters, fluorophores, etc.).
Services offered:
- Adeno-associated virus (AAV) production & purification;
- Lentivirus & Retrovirus production and purification including titration;
- Pseudotyped Rabies virus production and titration;
- Transfection-grade plasmid DNA preparation;
- Individual assistance on request (from assistance to design an experiment to the production of any other virus up to Risk Group 2 (RG2)).
